Aztec Matrix

Introduction
The Aztec create their own philosophy.  It contained Mawu-Lisa, Tao, Yin-Yang, and Maat.  This philosophy was very pragmatic.  It contained metaphysics, epistemology, values, and aesthetics.  Their system of thought was less compartmentalized than Europeans.  This philosophy was practiced by the elite. Lower class people may have not of known any philosophy at all!  Maybe they had a different philosophy.
Breakdown
Teotl is the spirit that all things is are connected too.  The Chinese called it the Tao.  The Aztec deities are the different attributes of Teotl.  Change is the only thing that's constant in the universe (Teotl).  The Aztec philosophers understood it.

Teotl contains complementary pairs.  The Chinese called it Yin-Yang.  Yin-Yang were seen as equal. Zoroastrians saw Yin-Yang as opposing each other.  An example is good vs evil.  Teotl is always changing from one polarity to the next.  At the same time, the Teotl is beyond that.

All things are simply parts of Teotl.  You can think of Teotl as the ocean and everything else as waves. Where does the waves end and the ocean begin?  There is a seamless unity of the universe that humans miss out on because of our ego.

The Teotl never created the universe because it always was.  The universe is the mask of Teotl.  It similar to the statement: "Brahman is the truth the world is maya."  Humans only see the fluctuations of Teotl, they never see the totality.
In the Aztec religion was more monotheistic for the upper class.  It was more polytheistic for the lower class. Ometeotl was the highest god of the Aztec.  It was androgynous like Mawu-Lisa.   Mawu-Lisa  is a god/goddess combination of the Fon people.  Hermaphroditus was a combination of a Greek god and a Nymph.  This shows you that androgyny/duality is popular around the world.  The Aztec thought Ometeotl was beyond human comprehension.
The world was seen as pictures created by Teotl.  The Aztec saw the world as illusionary.  Hindus have a similar idea.  They see the universe as maya (illusion).  The illusion is not being able to see the face of the Teotl.  Teotl can only be experienced and never understood or articulated.  This is the same way the Chinese see the Tao.  Teotl is experienced by the heart.  The heart is between the brain (reason) and liver (passion). It is the center of our life force.

The Aztecs believed in time-space.  They were able to perceive the various dimensions of time-space with astronomy.  Time-space cycles help keep humans in aligned to the cosmos.  A person birthdate affects their character and destiny.  They believed humanity had been destroyed 4 times in the past.  We are living in 5th Sun era.  Hopis have similar ideas.  The next destruction will wipe us out forever.

People should always fellow the path of the dharma.  This makes your life better.  They advocated fellowing the middle path.  Buddha advocated the middle path as well.

Teotl is better expressed by song, poem, art, etc.  They called this flower and song.  The art they created was meaningful.  All of their art were created to have a positive effect on the people.

Conclusion
Their philosophy was very pragmatic.  It promoted the dharma.  It is wonderfully complex.  It has great beauty!

Shen Kuo

Introduction
Shen Kuo was an even greater polymath than Su Song.  He was a scientist, mathematician, zoologist, politician, poet, musician, inventor, engineer, art critic, etc.  He improved the compass, wrote about Taoism and Confucianism,  etc.

History
He was born in a poor family.  His mother taught him about the military.  He was able to pass the state exams with flying colors!  Then he became a judge; after that, he became a government official.  He later became a finance commissioner and prior to that, he was an ambassador to 2 nations.

Genius

He made 2 atlases.  They had 23 maps in them.  He knew the throat only had 2 valves.  A lot of people believed the throat had 3 valves.  He was skilled in using geometry and trigonometry.  He figured out how much space the military needed to make battle formations.  He was the first person to use a compass for navigation.  He collected ancient art; he wanted to use them for rituals.  He discovered how ancient Chinese people created crossbows and swords.

He studied geology and had theories on how land formed.  He was the first Chinese person to describe a tornado and a rainbow.  His rainbow description agrees with modern science.  He knew the position of the pole star.  He knew celestial objects were round.  He also knew the moon didn't produce its own light.

Beliefs

He had Taoist beliefs.  He believed some information is beyond human comparison.  He believed in destiny, freewill, and prophecy.  He had a great understanding that people were trapped in their own matrix (point of view, paradigm, belief system, etc)  and couldn't see out of it (most of the time).

Writin
gs
Dream Pool Essays were several books he wrote on different subjects.  He even writes about seeing a UFO!  He wrote a book about how he improved the calendar of the Song dynasty.  Another book he wrote was about living conditions in rural areas.  One of his books had his poems in it.  A lot of books/chapters were lost or destroyed.

Conclusion
He is a great inspiration!  He came from a poor family about 800 years ago.  Yet, he accomplished so much.  More than most people.  Even the ones well off.  If he could do all that back than, imagine what you can do.  Your only limit is your physical body, imagination, and intelligence.  You can always improve those things.  "If there's a will, there's a way."  If you strongly desire something; the universe can line up in a way for you to get.  The only thing that can hold you back is yourself.  You are your biggest asset or liability. Make your life great!  You are a wonderful person.  Your life should reflect it.

Su Song

Introduction
Su Song  was a great Chinese polymath.  He was an inventor, scientist, mathematician, doctor, zoologist, poet, botanist, etc.  He invented a mechanical clock and was an ambassador for the Song dynasty.  The clock was 40 feet tall!  He wrote  books about medicine, stars, and geography.  He had a big impact on future generations.

History
He was born in 1020 in Fujian.  He became a civil servant at an early age.  He passed the state exam with flying colors.  Civil servants were leaders of towns and cities.  They were they were the mouthpiece of the emperor.  He would write poems about painting wasn't busy.  He also collected ancient art.  He became the President of Ministry of Personnel (made sure officials did their duties).  After that, he became a Minster of Justice.  Which is something like a judge.  Then he became a policy maker.

He went to a kingdom in the north (Liao Dynasty) to check out their calendar.  To his surprise, it was more accurate than the calendar of the Song Dynasty.  He told the emperor.  The emperor was furious, so he punished the people working at the Bureau of Astronomy and Calendar.  Su Song was commissioned by the emperor to write about the Liao Dynasty.  He ended up writing 200 books.  It helped settle a border dispute between the Song Dynasty and the Liao Dynasty.

Genius
Su Song created 5 celestial maps.  They had lunar mansions in them.  He copied information from Shen Kuo star map.  It had something to do with the true north and/or the pole star.

Su Song and other learned men updated Bencao Tujing.  It was a book about minerals, plants, and animals.  He wrote about the medical uses of mica.  It is a mineral that helps digestion.  He added a lot of information about other minerals as well.  He describes the regions where different animals can be found as well.  This book may have been added to Bencao Gangmu during the Ming Dynasty.

He wrote a book about measuring time.  Then he made a giant clock.  It had many moving parts: bells, gongs, mannequins, chain/s, etc.  The clock was destroyed by warriors from another kingdom.  They tried to recreate it in Beijing, but they weren't bright enough.  Su Song son tried to make another one, but he said his father left out info in the blueprints so no one else could make it.

Conclusion
Su Song is a great role model for children.  Children can become polymaths by studying him.  I think he's awesome.  There is much we can all learn from him.
