History
It was started 150 years ago in Germany. It was influenced by Classical Chinese Medine, Greek medicine Tibetan Medicine, and Unani. Naturopaths knew the terrain of the body had more do with diseases than germs. Benedict Lust founded modern day naturopathy. He created the first health food store in the states. He also founded the American School of Naturopathy. In the early 1900's naturopaths were as popular as medical doctors. Naturopaths made good hygiene popular in the U.S.A! Their hygiene practices lead to longer life spans and less sickness. Sir Arbuthnot Lane understood the importance of gut health. Naturopathy fell out of favor because of the popularity of the germ theory, miracle drugs, surgery, attacks by AMA, and Flexner Report.

-: It's terrible @ preventing and curing diseases! It sees people as machines. The docs try to fix the part of the machine (body) that's broken. It is totally objective, it leaves no room 4 the subjective. They don't consider how a person feels. They go by what they c on a test. It doesn't know the body heals itself and there's a spiritual dimension.
